About Us
Our goal is to provide high-quality care for children while promoting the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of each child. We strive to create an environment that values tolerance and acceptance, providing equal opportunity for each child to reach his or her full potential. Each child will be treated as an individual with unique needs, which will be met on a daily basis, and each family will be treated with respect and courtesy by our professional child development team. All staff is educated in the field of early childhood development and will meet the state regulations at all times to ensure each child has a safe environment. Each family will be respected for their family’s values and are welcome to participate in the child’s care.
From the Roots is a locally owned, family-run early learning center built on a simple belief: every child and family deserves a place where they feel at home.
Our story began when our family moved to Eau Claire and I found myself searching for childcare for our two young children. As both a mother and an early childhood educator, I knew what I wanted for them—a safe, clean, nurturing environment filled with teachers who would genuinely know them, care about them, and help them grow.
More than anything, I wanted a place where our family felt like we belonged. I wanted to know that my children were more than a name on an enrollment list and that the people caring for them would celebrate their personalities, encourage their development, and love them for exactly who they were.
When I couldn't quite find what I was looking for, my husband encouraged me to create it.
I began by staying home with our children and providing childcare for family and friends. The response was overwhelming, and it quickly became clear just how many other families were looking for the same thing we were: dependable, high-quality childcare in a place that felt welcoming, personal, and focused on children.
Early childhood education had already been a big part of my life. Before moving to Eau Claire, I spent eight years working in a Christian preschool and later operated my own in-home childcare program for three years. Combined with my education and years of experience working with children and families, those experiences gave me the foundation—and the determination—to build something more.
Where Our Name Comes From
In January 2013, we found the building that would become our first center. With the help of our family and friends, we spent months working, preparing, and turning that building into the place we had envisioned.
As opening day grew closer, there was still one important piece missing: the perfect name.
My husband and I kept coming back to one question:
What makes us the people we become?
Our parents. Our families. Our teachers. Our experiences. The lessons we are taught, the people who encourage us, and the love and guidance we receive along the way.
Our roots.
Those roots create the foundation for who we become—and childhood is where so many of those roots begin.
That is how From the Roots Early Learning Center got its name.
On May 13, 2013, we officially opened our doors. What began as a mother's search for the right place for her own children grew into something much bigger: a place where children can learn, explore, build relationships, and develop strong roots of their own.
Today, our commitment remains the same. We want every family who walks through our doors to feel welcomed, valued, and confident that their child is in a safe, nurturing, and loving environment.
Because at From the Roots, we're not simply caring for children.
We're helping them build the roots from which they'll grow.
